Kathmandu District Administration today ordered preventive detention of eight Tibetans exiles, apart from 16 arrested earlier this week for their alleged involvement in anti-China protests, the Himalayan Times online said today.
He said those detained were charged with defying prohibitory orders, taking part in protest against the Chinese rule in Tibet.
Since the failed uprising against the Chinese rule on March 10, 1959, Tibetans have launched several anti-China protests in Kathmandu demanding freedom and human rights in Tibet.
Tibetans have intensified their anti-China protest in Nepal, which is home to around 20,000 members of the exiled Buddhist community.
