The spiritual leader of Tibet will speak on “The Effect of Compassion on the Global Community,” at 2 p.m. Feb. 23 at Nova Southeastern University’s Don Taft University Center, 3301 College Ave., Davie. Florida Atlantic also announced Thursday how to buy tickets for the Dalai Lama’s speech on “Compassion as a Pillar of World Peace,” which will be held at 10 a.m. Feb. 24 in the FAU Arena, 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton. Tickets for that event will go on sale Tuesday, January 19. Floor tickets will be available for $75. Raised, chair back, bleacher style seating will be available for $49. To buy tickets, visit www.fau.edu/peace. FAU students, faculty and staff can go to the same web site Monday, Jan. 18 to enter a lottery for a free ticket.

The Dalai Lama will also speak to presidents of South Florida’s colleges and universities at Broward College’s Davie campus Feb. 24, but that event is not open to the public.
