Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama interacted with the media in Hyderabad on Thursday (December 18). Interacting with the media, the Dalai Lama said, "I am acting here like a free spokesman for Tibet and my main aim is to provide education to the younger Tibetan people."
"We are political refugees. We are carrying out certain duties on behalf of six million Tibetan people," he said.
The Dalai Lama met Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K Rosaiah during his daylong visit to the city. The Dalai Lama has lived in exile in India, after fleeing China in 1959.
The Dalai Lama claims autonomy for Tibet, China blames him of stoking unrest in the name of seeking independence for the Tibetans.
